Weather
Mid-October is an ideal time to be in Madrid. The summer heat has subsided, offering pleasant, mild days perfect for a walk during lunch breaks and cool, comfortable evenings (Madrid weather in October 2026).
We recommend packing a mix of business-casual attire for the symposium and comfortable shoes for exploring, along with a light jacket or sweater for the evenings.
Getting from the Airport to the City
You will arrive at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD).
You can easily access the Metro de Madrid (subway) from any terminal through two stations located inside the airport. Both stations are on Line 8, which connects the airport with the city center (information about tickets and fares).
The airport has official public taxi ranks at all terminals, located on Level 0 of the arrivals area. (information and booking options).
The airport is connected to the city center by the official public bus network (detailed schedules and routes)
Madrid’s public transportation includes the Metro and EMT buses, which are efficient, cheap, and can be used with the same ticket, along with the Cercanías commuter rail system and intercity buses for travel outside the city center (all about public transport)
